Department of Agriculture Hosts Horticulture Open House

The Department of Agriculture at Southeast Missouri State University is hosting a Horticulture Open House from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Charles L. Hutson Horticulture Greenhouse.
The event is free and open to the public. The greenhouse is located at 1039 Bertling St. in Cape Girardeau, at the corner of Bertling and Old Sprigg streets.
A variety of plants will be for sale. Dr. Sven Svenson, assistant professor of agriculture, will give tours of the Charles Nemanick Alternative Agriculture Garden area, including the composting facilities. Denise Pingel, greenhouse manager, and Department of Agriculture students will be present to discuss mum trials, which will be available for viewing.
