SIU-C Professor Dr. Shaikh Ahmed Presenting Engineering Week Keynote
(Lecture Series)
The Department of Physics and Engineering Physics has invited Dr. Shaikh Ahmed to present a keynote lecture from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, in Magill Hall Room 120, to celebrate Engineering Week at Southeast. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Ahmed is currently an associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. His lecture, entitled "Nonclassical Nanoelectronics: Device Discovery and Design through Advanced Scientific Computation," will explore his recent research findings and future directions in nanoelectronic device simulations.
Engineering Week, Feb. 20-26, is a program sponsored by the National Engineering Week Foundation. The goals of Engineering Week are to promote engineering discovery and to celebrate engineering volunteerism and outreach. This year marks the 60th anniversary, 1951-2011.
