Monty Python's Spamalot
(Fine Arts)
Monty Phython’s musical comedy, “Spamalot,” has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. March 25 in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall located in the Cultural Arts Center at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus. The show was originally scheduled for Dec. 12 but was postponed when the production company was unable to get to Cape Girardeau due to snow. Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical, “Spamalot” is the outrageous new musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the film classic “Monty Python and The Holy Grail.”  Based on the Tony Award-winning direction of Mike Nichols, with a book by Eric Idle and music and lyrics by the Grammy Award-winning team of Idle and John Du Prez, “Spamalot” tells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail. Flying cows, killer rabbits, taunting Frenchmen and show-stopping musical numbers are just a few of the reasons audiences everywhere are eating up “Spamalot,” said Bob Cerchio, assistant director of the River Campus. This performance contains mature themes. Tickets Patrons with tickets for the original performance should have received a letter asking them to return a form to the River Campus Box Office by 4 p.m. Feb. 11 if they wished to re-purchase tickets in their original location.  Beginning 9 a.m. Feb. 14, tickets go on sale to the general public at the River Campus Box Office, located in the Cultural Arts Center, 518 S.
