 Roland Martin

Our keynote speaker this year will be Mr. Roland Martin.  Award-winning journalist, CNN contributor, and diversity speaker Roland Martin is one of the most high-profile African Americans in media today.  An insightful and provocative analyst, he appears frequently on The Situation Room, Anderson Cooper 360° , Lou Dobbs Tonight, and others.  His thoughtful perspective on American politics has earned him much recognition, including the 2008 NAACP Image Award for Best Interview for "In Conversation:  The Barack Obama Interview."

Active in regional and national print journalism, he serves as a special correspondent for Essence Magazine, is the former executive editor and general manager of the country's largest African American daily newspaper, the Chicago Defender, and previously served as owner and publisher of the Dallas-Forth Worth Heritage.

The winner of more than 20 professional awards for journalistic excellence, Roland Martin fills his presentation with fascinating examinations of contemporary society.  From his experiences working in radio, print, and television to diversity in the media, he cover the major points that educate and fascinate audiences around the country.
