Grant Lund, Dingledein Winner Lecturing
(Fine Arts)

The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus along with the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri are proud to host a lecture Sept. 30 and art critique Oct. 1 with special guest Dr. Grant Lund.

Lund, who taught at Southeast Missouri State University for 28 years and was awarded the title of professor emeritus in 1999, will return to Cape Girardeau to give a lecture and moderate an art critique for artists and art educators.

"The Genesis of Art" will be the topic of his lecture Sept. 30 at Southeast's River Campus. He will discuss how a person develops concepts and creativity.

"Art and life are a paradox," Lund said.  "Creativity is the suture line occurring where chaos and order are joined. Significance in art occurs when a finite vision of the individual creator is compounded with universal principles."

The lecture will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum. The presentation is open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
