Dog Sees God: Confession of a Teenage Blockhead
(Fine Arts)
"Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead" is a satirical drama that imagines characters from the comic strip "Peanuts" as teenagers. The characters deal with many of the problems that come with being in high school, including alcohol, drugs, religion and finding an identity. The production premiered in August 2004 at the Soho Playhouse as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.
The performance at Southeast is student directed by Kyle Morr of St. Charles, Mo., who is being mentored by Amy Fritsche, assistant professor of theatre and dance, and is part of the Theatre and Dance Second Stage Series.
"'Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead'" offers a very, very edgy view on the Peanuts characters," Fritsche said. "It confronts a lot of issues that teens and college-aged students face using characters the American public relates to. It's also very funny. They laugh at themselves with adult subject matter."
The production contains adult language and content.
