Art Academy Summer Half Day Workshop - Mural at the Mall for ages 10-18

Mural at the Mall –July18-22, 1-4 p.m. for ages 10-18. Students will work with professional mural artist Craig Thomas in designing and painting a mural in the Mall using acrylic paint . Students are encouraged to wear paint clothes and bring snacks and drink. Location: West Park Mall. Fee: $80. (all supplies included)
The Art Academy Summer Art Workshop is an interactive, fun learning experience using a variety of media. The student artist will gain cultural appreciation and aesthetic awareness as they find inspiration in works of art and develop their own creative thinking skills for self expression. Seven one week half day workshops are offered in Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking, Mixed Media, Ceramics, and Mural Making. All classes, except Mural at the Mall, are held in Southeast Missouri State University’s Art Studios under the guidance of experienced art educators. All classes are limited to 15 students. Dress for a mess! Student work will be on exhibit at the Art Council of Southeast Missouri through the month of August. Opening Reception will be held August 5th from 5-8 p.m.
